Whitfield is located 1 mile from Askrigg and Bainbridge, 5 miles from Hawes, and 12 miles from Leyburn. There is parking for guests.
Whitfield
was converted in 1984 from a barn to a modern, comfortable and well equipped
house. It is situated 1 mile west of Askrigg and a mile north of Bainbridge,
in Upper Wensleydale, off the beaten track.
The house is situated at 950ft/285m above sea level, with spectacular uninterrupted views of the site of the Roman Fort at Bainbridge and the Roman road to the west up on Wether Fell, and is surrounded by peaceful meadows with nearby waterfalls and high fell walks.
All rooms face south with panoramic views over the dale, fells and towards
Semerwater.

Guest facilities include an en-suite double room (pictured below left) and an en-suite twin room (pictured below right).

have the exclusive use of the comfortably furnished lounge, with log fire,
and including a comprehensive range of books, guides, colour TV and video
recorder with local tapes. There are many antiques and splendid grandfather
clocks.
A full cooked breakfast is offered at Whitfield, with home preserves. Vegetarians are welcome.
